Senior Bowl rosters include 12 from FCS

(STATS) – A strong contingent of 12 former FCS players were assigned to the rosters at the 69th Reese’s Senior Bowl on Thursday.

Considered the premier college football all-star game, the Senior Bowl will be played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium on Jan. 27 in Mobile, Alabama.

FCS players assigned to the North squad were North Dakota State inside linebacker Nick DeLuca, Brown defensive end Richard “Dewey” Jarvis, Weber State cornerback Taron Johnson and The Citadel inside linebacker Myles Pierce.

The South squad will include South Dakota State tight end Dallas Goedert, who’s generally projected to become the first FCS player taken in the 2018 NFL Draft in late April. There’s also Southern cornerback Danny Johnson, Richmond quarterback Kyle Lauletta, South Carolina State outside linebacker Darius Leonard, Jacksonville State cornerback Siran Neal, North Carolina A&T offensive tackle Brandon Parker, Idaho State offensive guard Skyler Phillips and Murray State cornerback D’Montre Wade.

Stony Brook offensive tackle Timon Parris, who is recovering from a fractured fibula, was named to the Senior Bowl, but not assigned to a roster.

Vance Joseph and the Denver Broncos staff will coach the North, while Bill O’Brien and the Houston Texans staff will coach the South.
