A pair of Green Bay Packers players will once again be alternates for the Pro Bowl.
Defensive tackle Mike Daniels and fullback Aaron Ripkowski were named first alternates Thursday. Receiver Davante Adams, tackle David Bakhtiari, linebacker Clay Matthews and punter Justin Vogel were also named alternates.
It’s the third such honor for Daniels, who has 46 tackles, four sacks and a force fumble in 12 games this season. Ripkowski, who was an alternate last season as well, blocked well for rookie running backs Jamaal Williams and Aaron Jones, while carrying five times for 13 yards and adding six receptions for 35 yards.
The Packers were eliminated from playoff contention Monday night, and will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2008, Aaron Rodgers’ first year as their starting quarterback.
Rodgers was placed on injured reserve Monday, ending his season.
