Adrian Peterson is one of the top names remaining unsigned since the 2017 NFL Free Agency started over a month ago. Peterson visited New England on Monday but the latest rumors imply that the Patriots are non-committal to him.

According to Max Meyer of NFL.com, Adrian Peterson visited his second team this offseason on Monday. He met with the Seattle Seahawks last month before coming to New England to meet with members of the Patriots front office and coaching staff.

However, “AP” left New England without a deal and they appear to be non-committal to the 32-year-old running back. The Patriots signed Rex Burkhead this offseason to provide Tom Brady with more weapons but LeGarrette Blount still remains unsigned.

Adrian Peterson would be a good addition to the Patriots if they decide to not bring back Blount. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick might be worried about Peterson’s health and overall bad 2016 season. However, it should be noted that Belichick has a history of taking a gamble on veteran running backs.

Back in 2004, the Patriots acquired Corey Dillion from the Cincinnati Bengals for a second-round pick. The results were unexpected as Dillion had the best season of his career with New England as he rushed for 1,635 yards and scoring 12 touchdowns.

At the age of 32 years old, Adrian Peterson is no longer the player he once was but he still has some left in the tank. He is coming off a season wherein he was plagued by injuries and he only played for three games. He is also just two years removed from being suspended for child abuse.

Besides the Patriots, Adrian Peterson has interest from three to five NFL teams, as reported by NESN.com. Some of the teams linked with Peterson include the Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Oakland Raiders and New York Giants.

Adrian Peterson is considered as one of the greatest running backs in the history of the game. He is a future Hall of Famer with a Super Bowl ring just missing from his resume. If he can convince the Patriots to sign him, he will have his best chance to win his first championship.
