Darrelle Revis may be looking to reunite with his former team in the New England Patriots if rumors are to be followed. The Patriots have signed Brandin Cooks to a lucrative deal that might lead to the eventual departure of Malcolm Butler. This leaves them with an open roster spot for the CB position to which the veteran Revis could fill in the spot.

Darelle Revis is a 10-year veteran that was recently released by the New York Jets. In the coming season, he could be playing for his last team’s rival in the New England Patriots. And with the New England Patriots strapped for cash with the signing of Cooks, Revis will be the perfect alternative.

According to an NFL insider, Darrelle Revis is still a serviceable CB. He may not be as fast as during his prime, but he can still cover in tight spaces and has great instincts that he has developed throughout his career. The New England Patriots will be looking for Revis in preparation for Butler leaving the team.

A four-time First Team All-Pro, Darrelle Revis still has a lot left in his tank. The veteran has 29 interceptions, 128 passes defensed, four forced fumbles and three touchdowns in 140 games. He may not be able to produce the same production during his peak but his veteran presence could prove beneficial to the New England Patriots who are looking for a repeat.

According to Bleacher Report, Darrelle Revis will reportedly play for the New England Patriots if he chooses to play in the coming season. But the problem with Revis is his continuing decline in the past two years. The New York Jets seem to have taken note of this and decided to release him. The New England Patriots may be signing a declining veteran which is a risk they have to take.

Malcolm Butler may leave for the Saints in the coming season. If that happens, the New England Patriots Darrelle Revis will be their only option for a decent replacement. But is still remains to be seen which Darrelle Revis will the champs sign.
