The New England Patriots have been in the news a lot lately this off-season. Thankfully for New England Patriots fans, the team is in news lately not for all the wrong reasons. It’s because of their roster movements aimed at repeating as Super Bowl champs next year as the New England Patriots are considered the biggest winners in this year’s free agent signings. The dust hasn’t even settled yet in this year’s off-season and the New England Patriots are once again in the news. This time it involves a former player, free agent cornerback Darrelle Revis. There are rumors that Darrelle Revis is set to return to the New England Patriots. Those rumors seem to be just, all talk.

As rumors continue to swirl around the NFL, reports say that the New England Patriots have not yet discussed a deal with Darrelle Revis, according to a report from SB Nation. Darrelle Revis last played for the New England Patriots back in the 2014-2015 season wherein he helped the New England Patriots win Super Bowl XLIX against the Seattle Seahawks.

Darrelle Revis left the New England Patriots via free agency after winning Super Bowl XLIX. The New York Jets signed Darrelle Revis to a five-year, $70 million contract.

Darrelle Revis, however, struggled in his two seasons with the New York Jets. As a result of his poor performance, the New York Jets eventually released Darrelle Revis earlier this month.

Rumors started to swirl that Darrelle Revis would return to the New England Patriots ever since Darrelle Revis was released by the New York Jets, as reported by the Bleacher Report. The New England Patriots subsequently denied those rumors.

The fact that the New England Patriots has not made any discussions with Darrelle Revis is not surprising. The New England Patriots are known to be patient when it comes to player signings.

The New England Patriots are also waiting on the Malcolm Butler situation. If Malcolm Butler returns to the New England Patriots, Darrelle Revis would definitely be out of the equation. If Malcolm Butler signs elsewhere, there’s a good chance that the New England Patriots will sign Darrelle Revis.
