For some, winning the battle mean recognition and fame. Interestingly, the Houston Rockets look like more than just battles, they want to win the war.

The current 3rd seed Rockets did an easy work of the Oklahoma City Thunder, 137-125 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Lou Williams, the team’s latest acquisition from the Lakers, came off-the -bench and led the 51-22 Houston with team-high 31 points in an efficient shooting display.

James Harden, the frontrunner of the latest KIA Race to MVP Ladder, fell 5 boards short of a triple-double but finished strong with 22 points and 12 assists in 36 minutes that paced the Rockets’ attack. His runner-up Russell Westbrook wounded up with 39 points, 11 boards and 13 assists ,his 36th triple-double in what have proved to be his most dominant season.

Shortly after the game, the team’s Twitter account had a strong message, which obviously is referring to the series of triple-doubles done by Brodie, about the difference about the two front-runners for the coveted award.

Looking at the standings from ESPN, the Rockets just clinched a playoff berth and is sitting comfortably at the 3rd spot of the Western Conference just behind the Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs. OKC, however, could either stay of fall to the 7th spot with their 41-31 card with the Memphis Grizzlies only a game and-a-half behind the Thunder with 40-33.

By the looks of it, the team wanted to highlight the number of wins that their own triple-double guy is giving to the team than breaking some long-standing records but cannot carry his team to victories. If this trend continues, Harden and Westbrook could actually find themselves matched-up against each other in the post-season come playoff bracketing.

Trevor Ariza and Eric Gordon had 24 apiece in their starting roles to provide ample support for The Beard. Enes Kanter and Victor Oladipo had their share in the offense for the Thunder, finishing with 23 and 15, respectively.
