Do the Chargers have Mason Rudolph on their draft board?

On Wednesday, the Chargers twitter account tweeted about a video about Mason Rudolph saying it would be a “dream come true” to play under current QB Philip Rivers:

This drew the attention of Hardwick and Richards, who talked about it on Thursday’s show. At 6-5 and 235 pounds, Rudolph played his senior season at Oklahoma State University in 2017. Although the team did not meet some lofty expectations, the QB was very productive. He completed 65% of his passes for an FBS- leading 4,904 yards. He also threw 37 touchdowns to only nine interceptions.

In what is expected to be a top-heavy draft class for QBs, Rudolph is considered by many draft experts to be a tier below guys like Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Josh Allen, and Baker Mayfield. The former OSU Cowboy will likely go somewhere where he can be groomed as a backup, as many believe he is not prepared to handle an NFL offense immediately after being drafted.

NFL Network’s Mike Mayock gave him a second-round draft grade, although it seems as if his stock might very well be rising.
