Defensive end Myles Garrett is the consensus first overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft but the Cleveland Browns own that selection and they could go classic Browns on draft day. However, Garrett issued a stern warning to the Browns if they don’t pick him at number one.

In a pre-draft question and answer portion with ESPN Magazine, Garrett was asked why the struggling Browns should take him number one overall in the 2017 NFL Draft. The 21-year-old Texas A&M had a nice answer but it was his warning to the Browns that got everyone’s attention.

I’ll be a difference-maker from day one. And I’m not gonna be in any trouble. I’m just gonna make plays and bring a good atmosphere to your organization. And I’m gonna start winning and winning now. And because if you don’t draft me No. 1, I will punish your team for the next 10 to 12 years,” Garrett said.

Myles Garrett is a freak athlete, a great physical specimen built to destroy quarterbacks. He is the obvious first overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft and it would be a surprise if the Browns pass on him to draft a quarterback.

Besides Garrett, there are other players appear to have a locked position in the upcoming 2017 NFL Draft. According to Brian Mazique of Forbes, Stanford defensive end Solomon Thomas is heading to the San Francisco 49ers with the second overall and the Chicago Bears will draft LSU safety, Jamal Adams, with the next pick.

Mazique added that the Jacksonville Jaguars are locked in on LSU running back Leonard Fournette while the New York Jets will surely draft North Carolina quarterback Mitch Trubisky with the sixth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. The Tennessee Titans own the fifth pick but they are still undecided on who to select.

The 2017 NFL Draft will start on April 27 and ends on April 29. It is going to be held at the Philadelphia Museum of Art at Eakins Oval to mark the return of the draft to Philly that last hosted the event in 1961.
